MARINA HENKE

Audio Reporter & Producer - www.marinachenke.com

Marina fell in love with audio on the banks of the River des Peres. She has interviewed people about the river while finishing a BA in Environmental Studies at Bowdoin College in Portland, ME. She was an outdoor educator and a middle school teacher in the Tower Grove neighborhood, where she taught podcasting. And she’s a proud graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

A proud native of St. Louis, her dream is to return home to the city and tell the stories of people in Missouri. For now, she’s an audio producer & reporter living in Brooklyn. Most recently she’s worked at Gimlet Media and is apprenticing at Pineapple Street Studios.

Marina loves to tell hard stories that explore the gray areas of life and give space for slow and honest reflection. The resilience of St. Louis - its people, its building and its land - will always be her most compelling subject. She’s thrilled to join HOSTL as an audio producer and create a series of audio vignettes, which live here.
